Marsh announced from its London office that Mike Melling has been named as the new CEO of its Consumer Practice in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). He will also be a member of the EMEA Operating Committee, and will report to Alex Moczarski, CEO of Marsh EMEA and Hank Allen, CEO of Marsh’s Global Consumer Practice.
Melling joins Marsh from GE Money where he was head of the business-to-consumer division of GE Money Home Lending and served as a board director from 2005. In that role, he was responsible for the consumer mortgage, loans, and insurance business including sales to 16 million UK customers. He built a 500-strong sales and marketing team and had responsibility for strategic partnerships and sales.
Prior to his service with GE Melling held a variety of senior leadership roles at American Express, culminating in the leadership of the international customer management and cross-sales team, transforming its consumer financial services capabilities through innovative marketing strategies to improve sales and increase brand loyalty.
Melling indicated he is “excited by the opportunity” to build on the programs Marsh has in place. Moczarski praised Melling’s “track record of new sales success as well as increasing customer retention,” and indicated he would make a” valued addition to our EMEA leadership group.”
