BMS Group’s Pioneer Underwriting Adds Personnel

The UK’s BMS Group announced that its Lloyd’s Managing General Agent subsidiary, Pioneer Underwriting and JH Intermediaries have added two new employees: John Andrews, as Business Development Director and Jade Bolton, as Business Development Assistant.

BMS noted that it had launched Lloyd’s MGA, Pioneer Underwriting in April to “underwrite a diverse portfolio of business with an initial premium capacity of £62.5 million [$101.87 million]. The team is led by Darren Doherty, Managing Director.”

Andrews joins as Business Development Director and will be responsible for developing program related business for Pioneer Underwriting and JH Intermediaries. He has over 20 years experience within the MGA & delegated authority arena. He joins Pioneer from Glencairn, and will report to Doherty.

Bolton also joins as Business Development Assistant. She has 7 years experience within the insurance industry with particular expertise in underwriting casualty & professional lines MGA and delegated business.

Doherty commented: “Having launched Pioneer in April, we are keen to continue to attract the best talent. This ensures our clients receive the full benefits of our underwriting model.” He also emphasized that BMS is dedicated to “grow the business, with underwriting being a core component of this growth. Both John and Jade will strengthen our offering and I welcome them to the team.”
