UK broker Miller has added Piers Smith to its international team to direct binding authority in Scandinavia, in a move it described as an “expansion of its international platform for binding authority business.”
Smith is a specialist in the placement of all lines of binding authority business from Scandinavia. He will work with the international binding authority team, newly formed by Miller in May 2011, with a view to developing a strong presence for Miller in that region.
He began his insurance career in 1984 with Fenchurch Insurance Brokers and has joined Miller from R.K Harrison having previously worked for Benfield.
Miller also noted that it is “already the largest broker of binding authority business in the London market, primarily through its focus on North American wholesalers and has ambitions to replicate this position internationally.”
