Ironshore Expands Environmental Products to Europe

Ironshore Environmental products are now available in Europe through Ironshore Europe Limited.

The products cover a broad spectrum of issues for many industries, including manufacturing, engineering, construction, energy, oil and gas, education and healthcare. The company also offers site-specific environmental coverage.

The expansion into environmental coverage comes at a time of high interest for companies in many business sectors.

“Increasing environmental regulation throughout Europe has heightened business sensitivity of the need for effective management to both known and unforeseen environmental risk and subsequent liability issues,” said Mark Wheeler, CEO of Ironshore International. “Environmental risk protection is a global issue that demands broader availability of innovative insurance solutions in response to man-made risk and catastrophic events.”

The environmental class of business will be managed by Alan Shaw out of Ironshore’s London branch. Shaw has more than 14 years of experience as an environmental specialist in engineering, insurance, finance and legal sectors.

The Dublin-based Ironshore Europe Limited also offers specialty insurance products for casualty, management and professional liability, and political risk. Ironshore Europe was granted a certificate of authorization to provide insurance from the Central Bank of Ireland in December 2010.
