Pioneer Underwriting, which conducts business in partnership with Liberty Syndicates, has launched a new specialty unit, Pioneer PI that will commence underwriting on August 1, 2012. The new platform will be a Lloyd’s registered consortium and will write both international and US PI business.
Brian Denton, who is joining Pioneer when his departure from Antares is completed, will lead the new team. He has over twenty-five years’ experience in the London market, and an extensive knowledge of all aspects of Professional Indemnity Insurance.
Also joining the new division is underwriter Michael Comfort, who became the first official member of Pioneer PI when he joined the company on July 18, 2012.
Pioneer’s Managing Director Darren Doherty, commented: “Since its launch in April 2011, Pioneer has established itself as one of the largest London-based MGAs in terms of capacity. As we continue the expansion of our underwriting platform, I am delighted that we are building what promises to be an extremely successful PI team.
