Cooper Gay Launches Terrorism & Political Risk Crisis Management Service

October 8, 2012

London-based Cooper Gay & Co. announced that the independent insurance and reinsurance intermediary is “offering a free crisis management and business continuity consultation to its Terrorism & Political Risks policy holders on a worldwide basis.

“The service is being made available through a joint initiative with Security Exchange Ltd, a specialist risk management consultancy specializing in crisis management and business continuity.”

Cooper Gay explained that its “clients will receive preferential access to an online information and advice service, which will enable them to review global security risks, download crisis management guides, and book an appointment with a specialist consultant, free of charge. The service is intended to provide Cooper Gay clients with a framework for formulating effective crisis management and business continuity plans; as well as affording them instant access to expert help in the event of an incident.”

Andrew Stuart, Divisional Director of Terrorism and Political Risk at Cooper Gay, noted: “Effective crisis management planning is essential if companies are to survive a critical security incident without considerable financial loss or serious business interruption. By partnering with Security Exchange, Cooper Gay has taken a unique and proactive approach to crisis management in order to reduce the risks faced by its clients and to minimize the impact of a critical security incident.”

Rupert Reid, Managing Director of Security Exchange pointed out: “Although most companies will have plans on the shelf, many are outdated and unrehearsed; mainly because of the perceived complexity and cost of the exercise. Based on our extensive experience of working in the insurance market, Security Exchange will help companies to strip down and re-construct these plans, putting simple and straightforward measures in place which are clear and workable. We are delighted to be working with Cooper Gay on this exciting initiative”.
