Zurich in North America has announced the appointment of Anthony Barrett as senior vice president and head of Short Term Multi-Buyer Trade Credit Insurance. Barrett, a 28-year industry veteran, is based in New York City and reports to Anne Marie Thurber, executive vice president and managing director of Credit & Political Risk.
Barrett’s experience includes positions with Atradius in New York and Baltimore where he served as vice president of Sales (via the specialist broker channel) and vice president of Risk Services, with responsibility for the United States, Caribbean and Central America risk portfolios. He is a graduate member of the UK’s Institute of Export (MIEx Grad). He began his career with the UK’s Export Credit and Guarantees Department, working there and with other providers in the London market before entering the United States market in 2004.
In addition to Barrett, Zurich’s Credit & Political Risk unit recently appointed senior buyer underwriter Dencie Mascarenas who comes to Zurich with 14 years of experience as a buyer underwriter.
