ANV Holdings BV, the Dutch-headquartered specialty insurance business, announced that Julian Barker has joined its ANV Syndicate 1861 as an underwriter in the political risk & violence team.
With more than a decade of experience in political risks from both a broker and underwriter perspective, Barker’s specific focus within ANV is political violence in emerging markets but he will add additional support across the wider political risks portfolio, the company said.
ANV Syndicate 1861’s political risk & violence team focuses on Latin America, Africa and the Middle East, specializing in oil and extractive industries, particularly in emerging markets. Products include war on land, terrorism, contract frustration, confiscation & expropriation, and currency inconvertibility for banks, traders and multinational companies.
