ACE Group announced the appointment of Blain Waterford to the newly created role of vice president & deputy head of its accident & health business in Asia Pacific. In his new capacity, Waterford will head direct marketing, telemarketing, mobile assurance, hybrid products and data analytics in addition to having geographic responsibility for Australia/New Zealand and Korea.
He is currently the chief operating officer for ACE’s general insurance operations in Korea and will relocate to Singapore when he takes up his new role on January 1, 2015. He will report to Glen Browne, senior vice president & Asia Pacific’s head of accident & health for ACE.
Waterford joined ACE in 2007 as the head of accident & health for South Africa. Thereafter, he was posted to Singapore in 2010 as the head of direct marketing for Asia Pacific with responsibility across 12 markets. He began his career in the direct marketing division of a large South Africa bank, he then moved to AIG in South Africa where he was promoted to positions of increasing responsibility within the accident & health business.
