XL Group announced it has appointed Robin Johnson as country manager for Singapore with responsibility for continuing to drive the growth of the group’s insurance business in the region.
Johnson, whose industry career spans senior positions in underwriting, distribution and management, takes on the role from Andrew Vigar who will transfer to Tokyo as country manager for Japan.
Neil Robertson, chief executive, Specialty Insurance, at XL Group said: “Singapore is a hugely significant insurance market for us. Over the last decade it has established itself as a recognized insurance and reinsurance hub for Asia through enlightened regulation that has attracted leading industry players in insurance, reinsurance and broking.” (XL Group opened an office in Singapore in 2008.)
Johnson joins XL Group from AIG Singapore where he was most recently head of broker and client management, Asia.
