ACE Group announced the appointment of Paul Littooij, currently marine manager for ACE in Benelux, to the additional role of European product champion, Small Marine Commercial, as it continues to expand its team to better cover the insurance needs of the small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) market segment in this important sector of the economy in Continental Europe.
In this role, Littooij will be responsible for the development and profitable growth of ACE’s small commercial marine portfolio across Continental Europe. He will focus on expanding ACE’s online shipment platform, which has been piloted in Italy, across key European markets, and build new relationships with potential distribution partners.
Littooij has 25 years of marine insurance industry experience. He joined ACE in 2008, having previously held a series of marine underwriting, claims and risk engineering roles. In his new role, he continues to work from ACE’s Rotterdam and Antwerp offices, reporting to Benoît Chasseguet, marine manager for ACE in Continental Europe
“Paul’s long marine insurance experience and market knowledge will further enable us to develop new online distribution channels, which are rapidly increasing in importance for the SME segment, and continue to deliver appropriate, comprehensive insurance cover to brokers and their marine clients across Continental Europe,” said Chasseguet.
