London-based CFC Underwriting has added two new underwriters to its growing transaction liability team. This follows last year’s appointment of Matthew Giddings to drive the development of a new line of business for the specialist lines underwriting agency.
Naomi Collins joins from Allied World Assurance Co., where she was a senior underwriter in the mergers and acquisitions division, responsible for underwriting warranty and indemnity and other transactional insurance products. A qualified solicitor, Collins was previously a corporate lawyer at top firms including Slaughter & May and Hogan Lovells.
Ben Nelson is a recently qualified solicitor and joins CFC from DLA Piper where he worked in a number of areas including corporate mergers and acquisitions, regulation, litigation and employment.
Commenting on their appointment, Matthew Giddings, Transaction Liability practice leader, said: “I’m delighted to welcome Naomi and Ben to the team. This is a sophisticated market and we are pleased to be joined by underwriters and lawyers with solid experience in the space. Their skills and experience will be a key part of our offering to the market, which we are aiming to launch in the coming weeks.”
