Zurich Insurance (Hong Kong) has appointed Philip Chiu as the head of its Global Corporate Division, in a move from his previous position as Zurich’s head of Financial Lines in Asia.
He will directly report to Keith Thomas, CEO Global Corporate APAC, with a matrix reporting line into Eric Hui, CEO, Hong Kong.
In his new role, Chiu will expand upon Zurich’s existing product offering and propositions, with the view to provide customer-focused protection with innovative product solutions, according to a statement issued by Zurich (which has operated in Hong Kong since 1961).
In a career spanning 20 years, Chiu joined Zurich in 2014. After successfully targeting international programs business in Hong Kong, he was promoted to head of Financial Lines, the company added.
Chiu started his career in the insurance business with AIG, where he served for 10 years. Subsequently, he created DUAL Asia, a start-up underwriting agency operation where he established strategic partnerships with MSIG throughout Asia.
