XL Catlin’s insurance operations announced it has appointed Elie Hanna as head of Central Broker Management. He reports to Philippe Gouraud, head of Strategic Client and Broker Management, Insurance.
Based in London, Hanna will be responsible for managing XL Catlin’s strategic relationships with brokers for the insurance segment. Part of this work will involve looking at how XL Catlin engages with its key trading partners, setting broker engagement best practices, and working with both distribution and underwriting teams to identify innovative broker distribution methods and channels, in line with XL Catlin’s business objectives.
Hanna joins XL Catlin from AXA, where he worked as global head of Mid-Market and Broker Engagement. Prior to that, he worked at AIG for more than 10 years in both underwriting and senior distribution roles in London and across the Middle East.
With his ability in data and analytics, as well as underwriting and field experience, Hanna will help enhance XL Catlin’s broker relationships around the world, commented Gouraud.
“In this rapidly changing business environment, we want to make sure we have strong analytics and insights that help us more deeply understand what is and is not working in our trading relationships,” he added. “By leveraging data and technology, we will be better informed and positioned to enhance these relationships, we will also be able to identify and establish new ones.”
