London-based managing general underwriter StartPoint Executive Risks has appointed Mark Selby as head of its newly created financial institutions underwriting practice.
The FI practice is a complement to the current management liability underwriting practice and a next stage in the build out of StartPoint’s underwriting appetite, said a statement issued by StartPoint. (StartPoint is a trademark of RSG Underwriting Managers Europe Ltd., which is a part of RSG Underwriting Managers, the managing general underwriting division of Ryan Specialty Group.)
Selby joins StartPoint with over 20 years of financial institutions’ underwriting experience, including nearly six years as financial institutions underwriting manager at Liberty Specialty Markets in London.
Selby has the mandate to write a broad portfolio of both product and geographies for StartPoint, the company said.
Since writing its first policy in April, 2015, StartPoint has established itself “as a leading provider of management liability products, especially to U.S. publicly traded companies,” it added.
