Chubb reports that Mike Berry, who has been head of Surety for the UK and Ireland, will serve as head of Surety for Europe.
Jamal Griffith is replacing Berry as head of Surety for UK and Ireland.
Berry will be responsible for the performance, strategy and profitable growth of Chubb’s surety business in Continental Europe in addition to that in the UK and Ireland. His European surety team is based in Chubb locations in the Netherlands, Spain, Germany, Italy, France and the UK.
Berry joined Chubb’s surety business in 2015. Previously, he spent 27 years working in various roles at Euler Hermes and predecessor companies. He will continue to be based in London reporting to Bruce Cliff, executive vice president and head of International Surety, and to Adrian Matthews, chief operating officer, Continental Europe, Chubb.
Prior to his new role, Griffith was senior surety underwriter in London. He will report to Berry and to Mark Roberts, chief underwriting officer for property/casualty in the UK and Ireland. Griffith, who has been with Chubb since 2010, began his career as a surety underwriter at AIG in 2001.
