H.W. Kaufman Group, the Farmington Hills, Mich.-based wholesale broker and managing general agent, announced the expansion of Node International’s North American presence with the addition of Matthew Lefchik, who joins Node as director, Cyber Risk Management Services.
In the new role as director, Lefchik manages UK-based Node’s growth across North America, setting strategic direction for the United States and Canada. Utilizing his expertise within the cyber and privacy insurance market, along with his technical knowledge of operational cyber security risks and best practices, Lefchik is responsible for developing new product and service offerings to better meet client needs. Lefchik reports to David Derigiotis, corporate senior vice president, H.W. Kaufman Group.
With more than 16 years of experience, Lefchik is widely recognized for his extensive cyber and privacy expertise and results-driven achievements. He most recently served as the Global Director of Strategic Partnerships and Sales for cyber-security firm Avertium, where he executed a multi-million-dollar portfolio in channel program sales and cultivated strategic partnerships to enhance cross-selling, margin-centric programs. Maxwell Barry, associate underwriter, Detroit/Farmington Hills, Mich., also joins Node and reports to Lefchik.
“H.W. Kaufman Group acquired London-based MGA Node International to deepen our bench of expertise and ensure we are at the forefront of the evolving digital space,” said Alan Jay Kaufman, chairman, president and CEO, H.W. Kaufman Group. “Adding Matthew to the team, with his background in leading cyber security and telecommunications companies, reflects our intention to broaden Node’s reach beyond the United Kingdom.”
“Matthew’s extensive experience in risk reduction offers unique support to our producers in the field,” said Derigiotis. “His ability to translate risk management needs and insurance deficiencies into solutions will immediately impact collaboration across the network, providing exclusive products and programs to our clients and partners while strengthening our competitive advantage.”
“I look forward to utilizing my diverse skills to support and grow Node’s footprint in North America,” said Lefchik. “H.W. Kaufman Group is known for being a powerful market leader in distribution and infrastructure and this role allows the opportunity to carry the reputation forward while protecting our clients in the face of emerging digital threats.”
Lefchik earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Widener University in Chester, Penn.
