People Moves: Marsh Promotes George as President of Marsh Specialty; Specialist Risk Group Taps Marsh’s Morgan as Head of Corporate for UK Retail Pillar

Marsh Promotes George as President of Marsh Specialty

Insurance broker Marsh announced the appointment of Andrew George as president of Marsh Specialty, effective immediately. George will be based in London and report to Martin South, president and CEO, Marsh.

Marsh also announced that John Donnelly, president, Global Placement, will now report to South and will relocate from London to New York in the coming months. Both he and George will join the Marsh Executive Committee.

In this role, George has overall responsibility for Marsh Specialty’s global business, which includes the Aviation, Climate & Sustainability, Construction, Credit Specialties, Energy & Power, Financial and Professional Lines (FINPRO) – including Cyber, Marine & Cargo, and Private Equity, Mergers and Acquisitions (PEMA) practices.

George, who joined Marsh in 1988, brings more than 35 years of leadership experience to the role. In 2004, he was appointed head of Marsh’s Energy Practice for the Middle East and North Africa region, based in Dubai, returning to London in 2008 to become CEO of Marsh’s Energy Practice for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. In 2012 he was appointed global chairman of Marsh’s Energy Practice, which was extended in 2015 to become the Energy & Power Practice.

Specialist Risk Group Taps Marsh’s Morgan as Head of Corporate for UK Retail Pillar

Specialist Risk Group (SRG), the London-based insurance intermediary, announce the appointment of Richard Morgan as head of Corporate within its UK Retail pillar, Specialist Risk Insurance Solutions (SRIS).

Morgan brings extensive leadership experience, having held senior roles at Willis, JLT, Towergate, and most recently at Marsh, where he led sales nationally for its Education practice.

With a strong track record of leading high-performing teams, Morgan will be responsible for driving growth across SRIS’s corporate teams in London, Birmingham, and Manchester. His focus will be on service excellence, growth strategies, and strengthening the SRG message within the corporate market, SRG said.
