Broker Clear Group Acquires UK Fire Safety Specialist Delco Safety Ltd.
Clear Group, the London-based independent chartered insurance intermediary, has acquired Delco Safety Ltd., a specialist fire safety and compliance consultancy, as part of its strategy to expand its risk management division.
Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
Headquartered in Morden, England, Delco employs 19 staff and provides a range of services including fire risk assessments, safety inspections, and compliance consultancy. Its clients include local authorities, councils, housing associations, property managers, and commercial property owners.
Operating in a resilient and growing niche market, Delco’s proposition responds to increasing regulatory scrutiny on building and fire safety, following the introduction of legislation such as the UK Building Safety Act. The business has developed long standing existing client relationships, offering scheduled inspections, maintenance advice and compliance reviews underpinned by a capable team of experts.
Clear said the deal underscores its commitment to expanding specialist capabilities and strengthening its growing risk management offering. In combination, Clear and Delco will offer enhanced packaged risk management and insurance services to new and existing group customers.
“The acquisition of Delco reflects our strategy to grow Clear’s Risk Management division by adding specialist expertise in fire safety, an area of increasing importance for our clients,” commented Mike Edgeley, group CEO at Clear Group, in a statement.
“Delco’s strong reputation, robust compliance standards, and complementary client base make it a natural fit for our Group. Through combining tailored risk management services with thoughtfully structured insurance programmes, we bring value to our clients as a genuine risk advisor and help to enable their strategic success,” Edgeley added.
“Joining Clear provides us with the scale and support to accelerate our growth and expand the range of services we can offer clients. We share a commitment to compliance, quality, and client service, and we are excited to bring our fire risk expertise into the wider Clear Group offering,” said Derek Andrews, director at Delco.
