Lockton Re Taps Aon’s Bell as Head of Aviation
Lockton Re, the reinsurance business of independent insurance broker Lockton, announced that David Bell has been appointed head of Aviation, based in London.

Bell began his career at CT Bowring in 1983 as a trainee claims broker, before moving on to the airline placement side and then to the reinsurance team. He is a recognized aviation market veteran and has extensive experience in global aviation treaty and excess of loss programs, including both satellite business and major North American placements.
Bell has held senior aviation roles at Marsh, AIG, Gallagher Re and most recently at Aon.

Canopius Hires Webber From Trans Re as Head of Reinsurance London
Canopius Group, a global specialty and P&C re/insurer, announced it has hired Rachel Webber in the newly created role of head of Reinsurance, UK.
Webber will report to Aloïs Rouffiac, Canopius’ UK chief underwriting officer and active underwriter.
Webber is a senior reinsurance professional with extensive experience in both technical and underwriting functions. Most recently, she served as senior vice president, head of Non-Marine at Trans Re. Her career is marked by a blend of underwriting leadership and strategic project execution.
Webber will be responsible for evaluating Canopius’ UK Reinsurance portfolio to further develop the company’s value proposition and excellent services. She will also spearhead client engagement efforts to ensure that partners have a comprehensive understanding of Canopius’ reinsurance offerings, positioning the company as a complete and practical solution that remains top of mind.
Canopius said reinsurance is a strategic focus for the company, which has growth ambitions in the UK that complement its reinsurance offerings alongside Bermuda and APAC. Canopius recently expanded its casualty treaty business and entered the aviation treaty market in London.
