The Hanover Insurance Group, Inc. announced that Doug Eden has been named president for the company’s Midwest Region. Eden will work out of the The Hanover’s Chicago office.
“Doug is a bright and talented insurance professional who will add even more insight and experience to our strong Midwest leadership team,” said Marita Zuraitis, president of The Hanover’s property and casualty companies. “I know that Doug will help us to continue building strong relationships with our agent partners and their customers as we deliver on The Hanover promise of performance.”
Eden’s insurance career includes roles in underwriting, accounting and finance, and small and middle-market marketing and distribution with several insurers, including USF&G, Fireman’s Fund and, most recently, CNA, where he was senior vice president of property and casualty distribution management. In this role, Eden was responsible for the overall management of CNA’s independent agent and national broker strategies and compensation.
The Hanover Insurance Group is the holding company for a group of insurance companies headquartered in Worcester, Mass. The Hanover companies include The Hanover Insurance Company, also headquartered in Worcester, and Citizens Insurance Company of America, headquartered in Howell, Mich.
