West Des Moines, Iowa-based Hawkeye-Security Insurance, a member of Liberty Mutual Group, announced it is now offering Inland Marine coverage through new upgrades to Commercial IQ, the company’s Web-based application for commercial lines.
Commercial IQ now allows agents to write new business Inland Marine coverages as a stand-alone line of business or as part of a package. The introduction of automated rating in Commercial IQ for most Inland Marine coverages means agents receive a more detailed underwriting review and quicker decisions on acceptable risks with less manual data entry, the company statement said.
“Automating this line and delivering greater rating flexibility positions Hawkeye-Security to be a full-scale player in the monoline Inland Marine market,” said Dan Schmidt, vice president, commercial lines underwriting, Hawkeye-Security Insurance. “This is a line that can generate a high volume of small accounts for our agents, so it’s important that we make quoting and issuing these coverages time-efficient for them.”
The Commercial IQ enhancements now support as many as 28 Inland Marine coverages for Hawkeye-Security Insurance, most of which can be customized to fit customers’ unique requirements.
Those coverages include: accounts receivable, antique automobile, antiques and collectibles, bailees customer-dry cleaners floater, builders risk, camera and musical instrument dealers, commercial computer, commercial article floater, contractors equipment, equipment dealers, fine arts dealers, fine arts floater, installation floater, miscellaneous bailee-processors floater, miscellaneous/scheduled property floater, motor truck cargo-legal liability, patterns and dies floater, physicians and surgeons equipment, radio and TV towers and equipment-property, sales transportation-owners goods on owned vehicles, transportation-values shipped, trip transit, and valuable papers.
Hawkeye-Security Insurance said that over the next several months the company plans to enhance Inland Marine electronic recordkeeping capabilities, making all correspondence and attachments a permanent part of each application. Agents will also have the ability to submit schedules in PDF format and will be able to communicate with underwriters through Commercial IQ.
Hawkeye-Security Insurance offers property/casualty products, including personal and commercial coverage, distributed only through appointed independent agents. The company provides commercial insurance in Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, and Wisconsin.
