Rockhill Insurance Purchases National Environmental Coverage Corp.

July 8, 2008

Rockhill Insurance Company announced its recent acquisition of National Environmental Coverage Corporation (NECC), a company that underwrites environmental insurance coverage.

The Rockhill Group is a Kansas City-based insurance conglomerate offering general liability, umbrella, property, earthquake and workers’ compensation insurance. NECC, with offices in New York and Louisiana, has since 1989 underwriten environmental risks, specializing in liability coverage for restoration contractors, mold contractors, environmental contractors and consultants, and waste facilities throughout the U.S.

“We have long been interested in the environmental market,” said Rockhill CEO Terry Younghanz. “NECC’s track record speaks for itself, and we quickly realized that they would be a perfect fit within the Rockhill Group. Being held to a six month cancellation provision by the prior carrier has actually been a blessing, because it gave us time to really examine the market and to retool, refocus and improve upon the products NECC will offer.”

“We’re really excited about rolling out the Rockhill product on July 31st,” said Joe Greenwald on behalf of NECC, “…Going from an independent MGU platform to a direct insurance company affiliation will allow NECC to more quickly respond to the unique situations that arise in this business and properly underwrite the individual risk.”

For further information, please contact Joe Greenwald in the NECC New York office at 845-398-2021 or Trenton Eversull in the NECC Louisiana office at 985-781-6808.
