North Dakota Insurance Commissioner Adam Hamm has barred a Grand Forks man and his insurance company from doing business.
The cease and desist order was issued against David Glessner and MAG Insurance LLC. They are accused of improperly using money belonging to insurance clients.
The cease and desist order alleges that Glessner accepted money from an insurance client, and then issued one or more falsified insurance policies and also failed to apply the money to an actual insurance policy, according to information released by the insurance department.
The client believed he had insurance coverage when in fact he did not. Hamm said that as part of the investigation the department is looking for other North Dakota consumers who may have purchased insurance from Glessner or MAG Insurance.
Glessner did not immediately respond to a telephone message left by The Associated Press seeking comment. He has 30 days to request an administrative hearing on Hamm’s order.
