A state task force in North Dakota is conducting random compliance checks at various construction sites to see if contractors have the proper licensing, workers’ compensation insurance coverage and are complying with state tax and other regulations.
Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem says representatives from several state agencies are participating.
The task force will also verify that out-of-state individuals, businesses and contractors are properly registered and have obtained licenses from the Attorney General’s office
Stenehjem says in a news release that the compliance checks assure that all businesses are following rules and regulations. The area has seen an influx of new contractors because of the recent oil boom.
