I don’t have any sympathy whatsoever for this guy. I am, however, astonished that the prosecutors are concerned that he may commit suicide to avoid prison. I don’t believe I’ve ever heard that concern articulated before in this context. Not to be crass, but society would be better served if this felon did take his own life rather than be imprisioned at considerable public expense.
