The board of Columbus, Ohio-based The Motorists Mutual Insurance Co. has voted unanimously to select David L. Kaufman as CEO of Motorists Mutual and affiliated companies.
Former CEO John J. Bishop earlier announced his retirement as an associate of Motorists Mutual. However, he will remain as chairman of the board of directors of Motorists.
The selection of Kaufman as CEO has been part of a long-term succession plan. Kaufman was elected president of Motorists Mutual in 2012.
Bishop, who has served as the group’s CEO since 2001, has been an associate with Motorists Mutual for more than 40 years.
