Stevens Point, Wis.-based Sentry Insurance announced that Sentry president and CEO Peter G. McPartland is assuming the role of chairman of the board.
Current chair, Dale R. Schuh, will retire on August 30.
McPartland joined Sentry in August 2010 as president and chief operating officer. He was elected to the board of directors that same year. In 2012, he was named chief executive officer.
Sentry Insurance and its subsidiaries sell property and casualty insurance, life insurance, annuities and retirement programs for businesses and individuals throughout the country. Headquartered in Stevens Point, Sentry employs more than 4,000 associates in 41 states.
