The U.S. Coast Guard says it’s investigating a water taxi accident in Iowa that injured 12 people, including two children who were sent to the hospital.
Passengers told KWQC-TV and the Quad-City Times that a Channel Cat water taxi crashed into a dock in the afternoon on Aug. 9 near the Isle of Capri in Bettendorf.
Coast Guard spokesman Jerad Landheer said 12 people suffered cuts and bruises. He says two of them were children who suffered head injuries. They were taken to the Genesis Medical Center. Their conditions are unknown.
Landheer says the Channel Cat 2 taxi wasn’t damaged. It was operating again the next day.
The newspaper reports that officials from Channel Cat operator the Celebration Bell weren’t available for comment.
