Minnetonka, Minn., police are warning homeowners that eight burglaries have occurred in the Minneapolis suburb in less than a month.
WCCO-TV reports the Minnetonka Police Department says it issued a crime alert after four residential burglaries occurred from Nov. 17-19. Police say four more burglaries have occurred since the crime alert.
Police say all of the break-ins have happened during the day when homeowners were out. They say the burglars pried open a door or broke a window to enter the homes.
Police say whoever is responsible may ring the doorbell to see if anyone is home. They say residents should call 911 immediately if they answer their door and a stranger asks for someone who doesn’t live there.
The department is offering a $1,000 cash reward for information leading to an arrest.
