A southeast Missouri construction company has been cited by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration for 13 serious safety violations in an investigation that began after the death of a 16-year-old worker.
The Southeast Missourian reports that OSHA announced the citations for Robertson Incorporated Bridge and Grading Division, based in Poplar Bluff. The company, which specializes in highway, bridge and other infrastructure projects, declined comment.
Tristin James Wood of Marquand, Missouri, was fatally injured June 17 while working at a job site in Cape Girardeau County. He was struck by the swinging cab and boom of a crane that was being disassembled.
OSHA has proposed penalties of $44,730. The company has 15 business days to comply, request a conference or contest the findings.
