Arthur J. Gallagher& Co. has acquired Insurance Plans Agency Inc. in South Barrington, Ill. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Established in 1983, Insurance Plans Agency Inc. (IPA) is a retail insurance broker providing group employee benefits products and consulting services, and commercial property/casualty insurance services, to business and individual clients throughout the United States. The firm specializes in employee benefits products including strategic planning, building and implementation of custom benefit solutions, as well as providing wellness plans, human resource and compliance support and employee communications.
Mark Andrew Varland and his team will continue to operate from their current location under the direction of William Ziebell, head of Gallagher’s North Central employee benefit consulting and brokerage operations.
Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., an international insurance brokerage and risk management services firm, is headquartered in Itasca, Ill.
