Owners 100% liable. The dog should have been euthanized after the first bite.

My thoughts too. Reads like a bad comedy.

    Jack,
From you comments sounds like you have never discharged a weapon under high stress circumstances. Would appear from the article that this was an active dog attack and hence significant movement. Not quite as easy a target to hit versus a piece of paper on a shooting range.

Personally, I think the lack of respect for law officers is because some are committing crimes like DUI, corruption, drug dealing………

I hope you meant the law breakers committing the crimes instead of the law officers. Most cases I have seen are the law breakers wanting to resist arrest, argue and even assault police officers trying to do their job.

I’m so glad you support socialism in the form of law enforcement. I do as well. I love hanging out with the sheriff a couple houses away and the police officers who live across the street. They have some stories! What other socialism are you into? Fire departments maybe? Libraries? Interstates? Armed Forces?

WHAT!? How about don’t shoot at something that’s near or next to someone you are trying to save! That’s like shooting and someone in a hostage situation! You already missed with the stun gun. How about getting in there with your hands or a club first, instead of trying to thread the needle and shoot the dog off someone’s foot.

Absurd, the police officer should absolutely share liability for this.

    Dog Gone,
Sorry but cannot agree with your statement. First bite death sentence seems to me to be extremely harsh without knowing what caused the dog to bite.

I agree! My sister’s dog was provoked by a neighbor kid and the dog had enough and bit him. They had to register the dog as a dangerous dog because of that. The dog was a lovable dog for the years they owned him.

Dog runs out of an open gate and attacks…cop gets it on a leash, it keeps attacking…this is not Old Yeller…dog should have been euthanized after the 1st bite.

Had neighbor kids teasing my god to the point where he was chomping at my gr kids. Had to put her down.
Still remorseful over that. Wonder if the teasing kids are… I know my gr kids still talk about that dog and how it came to an end. .

By and large most people in the insurance industry are fine people. So goes true for police. One problem- consequences are large for the minority that are problems and for far too long they have been protected by departments, so-called watch dog civil admin authorities, courts and juries. Keep and celebrate the good and dump the bad apple…increase the pay, require education/training and more Barney Fife and less robo cop please apply. If you want to kick some ass head to the military and not the local police.

That is a fair, reasonable assessment, bob. Thank you for posting. I don’t like reading posts by extremists and trolls all the time.

I have 5 American Bulldogs and they are all lovable dogs and are kept in gated yard and walked on a leash daily. I have two neighbors who thinks it funny to have their mixed dog out running the streets when we are walking or dogs because our dogs pull and bark at their dog and one of the neighbors stop his truck while I was walking Daisy so, his lab could jump out his truck came ruining at us and that was the last straw so, I called the police because its a law to have your dogs on a leash and I wanted it on record and the lab ran at the police and he spray him with pepper spray and .. so, the police advise them if something happen it was not fault and the Police advise both of them if my dog get off the leash because your dog is not on one and start a fight with my dog they would be the response party and the police told me if their dog comes in my yard I can shot it (which I would not want to kill any dog) so, as a Bulldog owner you have to also document proper behavior to protect your dogs because of this type of blame on certain type of dogs getting bad press their not all bad but owner have a responsible role as well to keep their dog safe and other people if you know your dog is aggressive then make sure they restrain at all time. I am putting my house up for sale I want 20 acres with NO NEIGHORS so, my dogs can live a safe and happy life.

Persmart sells wireless electronic leashes that go as small a radius as 40 feet up to 3/4 acres. My dog is much happier on that then the ten foot chain it was on before I got that. Even when the transmitter is dead, he don’t leave his area.

Am I missing something? I thought Wisconsin had double indemnity law. Does the company have a form which states that it only covers one dog bite?
