A Kansas woman alleges in a lawsuit that she was struck and injured by a driver playing “Pokemon Go” not long after the game’s release.
The Wichita Eagle reports that Angeligue Farris is seeking more than $75,000 in damages from David Cardona.
The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office detention deputy contends in the lawsuit that Cardona was “hunting Pokemon” in August 2016 in an area of downtown Wichita that is considered a hotspot for finding them when he turned into her vehicle. She had been heading home from work and suffered injuries to her left arm, neck, back and hip.
Cardona declined to comment about the lawsuit. He was cited for failing to yield right of way to another driver as he made a left turn and paid a $122.50 ticket.
