J.M. Wilson is a managing general agency and surplus lines broker providing independent insurance agents access to specialty insurance markets.
2020 will mark its 100 year anniversary, and the company plans to celebrate throughout the year.
J.M. Wilson Corp. was established in 1920, shortly after founder James M. Wilson Sr., returned home from WWI, as a decorated war hero. The firm began as a wholesale bond writer, before becoming a managing general agency in 1948, and expanding its portfolio to excess and surplus lines in 1966.
With expansion into new markets, the size of the company grew as well. Over the past 30 years, J.M. Wilson has opened branch offices in seven states across the country with the ability to underwrite in 40 states.
