A large fire at an apartment complex in Mandan, N.D., has displaced its tenants.
Flames could be seen shooting from the roof of the three-story Sunset Bluffs Apartments Monday night. The Red Cross is assisting an unknown number of people whose apartments were lost or damaged.
Mandan Fire Chief Steve Nardello said Tuesday the roof of the complex is “burned off.” The fire started on the third floor, possibly on a balcony.
Deputy Police Chief Lori Flaten said there were no known injuries to residents or firefighters.
Firefighters were on the scene until 3 a.m. Tuesday.
The complex is next to the building that burned in July 2019 and was later razed, the Bismarck Tribune reported.
The cause of Monday night’s fire is under investigation. A Mandan police investigator trained in fire investigation will assist the fire chief and the Mandan Fire Department in the investigation.
