Kansas Insurance Commissioner Vicki Schmidt announced an Arkansas City woman has been sentenced to 18 months of probation for insurance fraud.
Misty Jane Dial, age 33, pleaded guilty in the District Court of Cowley-Arkansas City on July 9 to one felony count of attempted fraudulent insurance act and one felony count of making false information.
After being involved in an accident, Dial submitted fraudulent documentation to her insurance company in order to obtain funds for medical care and lost wages that she had not actually received nor lost. She was sentenced on August 27 to 18 months of probation with 10 months of underlying prison time if her probation is violated. Dial also was fined $500.
