Michigan Man Sentenced for Role in Metro Detroit Auto Theft Ring

A Michigan man was sentenced last week for his role in a Detroit auto theft ring from 2023 to 2025, Attorney General Dana Nessel announced.

Amarion Jordan, 23, of Inkster, was sentenced to 5-20 years’ incarceration after pleading guilty to one count of Conducting a Criminal Enterprise. Jordan was part of a criminal ring that targeted new vehicle storage lots at manufacturing facilities, car dealerships, parking lots, and individual residences.

A 2024 investigation by the Attorney General’s office uncovered over 400 stolen vehicles worth approximately $8 million in southeastern Michigan. According to the department, stolen vehicles were sold exponentially below market value on the black market to buyers seeking unregistered vehicles.

“These thefts devastate victims and harm our local businesses, and we will continue to aggressively investigate and prosecute the criminal networks that threaten the safety and economic well-being of our communities,” Nessel said.
