Wausau Insurance will sell its business benefits until to an investor group headed by Wausau Insurance Vice President Fred Moore, creating a stand-alone company.
The sale will allow Wausau to focus on its main business, workers’ compensation. The benefits unit is the 10th largest administrative service provider in the country. It was created more than 50 years ago and serves 1.4 million people enrolled in employee benefit plans.
