The Chubb Group of Insurance Companies introduces Protection for Community Association Leaders(SM), an insurance policy designed to meet the unique directors and officers (D&O) liability, employment practices liability (EPL), and crime coverage needs of community associations. It is the industry’s first policy combining thesecoverages specifically written for community associations.
“Community association boards and property managers are frequentlycaught in the middle of complicated and emotional disputes between neighbors,” said Leo Lemmelin, vice president and underwriting manager at Chubb. “In these disputes, compromise often doesn’t work, and so they often look to the courts to settle these issues. As in society in general, litigation against community association boards and their property managers is on the rise,” he said.
