Illinois-based Zurich North America announced the availability of comprehensive travel assistance services through Zurich Travel Assistsm, a global travel assistance program of Zurich North America.
Based in Toronto, Canada, World Travel Protection, the administrator of Zurich Travel Assist, provides service to vacation or business travelers who need medical, legal, informational or pre-trip personal assistance when traveling 100 or more miles from home. The travel assistance program serves as an enhancement to Zurich North America’s business travel and 24-hour Accidental Death and Dismemberment insurance products, which are offered through the Accident & Health Group.
The goal of the Zurich Travel Assist program is to provide a familiar standard of care in an unfamiliar place, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Travelers who become sick or injured, need a prescription filled, require a legal referral, or lose tickets can dial into a sophisticated call center, where they will find a multilingual staff of dedicated professionals, including physicians, nurses and travel assistance specialists, who can respond to emergencies anywhere in the world. As a member of the International Assistance Group, the program draws on over 20 assistance partners, 1,600 dedicated professionals and a network of hospitals and correspondents in over 230 countries and territories, speaking over 30 languages.
The Zurich Travel Assist program offers:
* Medical Assistance: medical evacuation; medical and non-medical repatriation; and return of remains all offered on a fully insured basis. Other services include emergency medical or dental services; medical monitoring; hospital admissions and payments; and prescription assistance.
* Legal Assistance: legal referrals; advance of bail.
* Personal Assistance: lost baggage services; translation and interpretation; emergency messaging, emergency ticket and lost document replacement.
* Information Assistance: passport and visa requirements; weather, cultural and exchange information; travel advisories; inoculation and immunization information.
