IVANS Recognized for InVEST Donation

May 7, 2002

InVEST, an education program strengthening the insurance industry by attracting a large pool of qualified insurance recruits, announced a donation made by IVANS, Inc., an insurance industry-owned communications network, in honor of former IVANS Board of Directors member Dan Carmichael, CPCU.

Carmichael, former CEO of IVANS, Inc., currently serves as President and CEO of the Ohio Casualty Group, in Fairfield, OH.

“InVEST is committed to bringing new talent into the insurance industry and providing students with a positive image of insurance professionals,” InVEST Chairman Jim Armitage commented. “IVANS has demonstrated its commitment to these same ideals with this donation by honoring Mr. Carmichael, who has dedicated his professional life to perpetuating the independent agency system and the insurance industry as a whole.”

A portion of the IVANS donation will go towards funding the InVEST Dach Award, an award which honors an agent who works with an InVEST school and serves as technical expert for the class, hosts internships, and inspires students to pursue careers in the insurance industry. The monetary award goes directly to the recipient’s InVEST classroom to purchase supplies and equipment or to provide scholarship funds for graduating students who are going on to higher education with an emphasis on insurance.

“With contributions like IVANS’ and those made by our longtime supporters, we can continue to expand the reach of the InVEST program and provide even more students with the skills they need to embark on insurance careers,” Armitage added. “In turn, this means we can also provide a higher level of trained employees to our agency and company partners across the country.”
