The Iowa Insurance Division and the Minnesota Department of Commerce will host a free seminar on indexed life and annuity products on Saturday, March 4, 2006.
The seminar, “Indexed Products: Fact and Fiction” will be held in conjunction with the March NAIC meeting at the Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel in Orlando, Florida.
Muffins and coffee will be served at 8:30 with the seminar to follow from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m.
Iowa Commissioner Susan Voss will make opening remarks. The instructors for the seminar are Jack Marrion and Noel Abkemeier.
Jack Marrion is president of Advantage Compendium providing research and consulting services to select financial companies. Noel J. Abkemeier is a consulting actuary with Milliman, Inc.
The seminar will provide attendees with an overview of indexed products, sales practices and suitability, applicable regulations and the financial impact these products have on insurers. Presentations will cover issues relevant to market/financial examiners, the product approval process, and investigator/enforcement activity. All interested persons (regulators, industry representatives and consumer representatives) are encouraged to attend.
