After all, they’ll have plenty of money to play with from the government contractors who were counting on him to get them brand new contracts for brand new satellites and missions to space.

Rotten and filthy politics across the board. Someone should take a look at his defense bund and find out who’s paying his “Lawyers”.

How many non-business owning people have “Lawyer(s)” by the way.

I sure don’t like lawyers but, if this guy was dismissed for trying to point out what many have complained about… Did they just fire him for trying to pull their Federal heads out of their lower regions?

If FEMA had been run to perform rather than just to look good in windbreakers, would Katrina been handled differently?

Proeza should take his already generous retirement from the weather service and retire. After 40 years with the government you can bet this fat cat has lifetime medical benefits and 90% of his most current year salary as a pension. Mayfield must have had an understudy who who should be given a chance to run this agency. We don’t need another bureaucratic “re-tread” that we’ll have to give another pension to. This guy had a good ride and it’s time to allow some new blood to have a shot.
