Darwin Pro to Acquire Florida’s Agency Marketing Services

Darwin Professional Underwriters, Inc. has joined with the lawyers professional liability experts at Wolf Professional Risk in Tampa, Florida to acquire Agency Marketing Services, Inc. of St. Petersburg, Florida.

The acquisition will be effected through a new Darwin affiliate, Evolution Underwriters, Inc. (EUI), to be headed by Boyd H. Wolf, as president, and David E. Gough, as senior vice president. With its headquarters in Florida, EUI has been created as a stand-alone entity focused on the professional liability insurance arena.

Wolf and Gough intend to build on AMS’ professional liability expertise, continuing to operate the company both as a program administrator and an independent wholesaler.

Kevin C. Schuck, outgoing principal of AMS, will remain a consultant to the acquired operation.

Acquisition of AMS is expected to close before year-end. Terms of the purchase agreement were not disclosed.
