National Flood Insurance Program Set to Expire Tomorrow

    Shouldn’t he be informing the NFIP that they cannot withhold flood insurance right about now? Oh yeah, he only gets away with telling private insurers what to charge, to whom, and when.

    you’re definitely on to something there! I’m not sure it’s as easy for Congress just to pass one “CR” as the article states. I think they have to pass the funding AND the authorizing language for use of the funds and those are two separate things. Any Continuing Resolution would have to have the funding AND the authority to continue the NFIP, not just one that grants the funds.That’s exactly what happened in 2002 when the funds were provided, but the authority for the program expired! We don’t want that to happen again.

    Just another shining example of the way our government runs its ‘business’. There is no doubt they will do marvelous things with AIG, BofA, and Citibank, once we manage to lower our expectations to meet their goals.
