Who do they think can stay in business if their rules are implemented? In the end, they get what they want “government run health care.” How come unions can make profits but health insurance companies are not allowed to. I would love to pay a lower premium but not at the cost of government run health care.

Old Joe, master of the obvious. Healthcare costs are hurting families? Really? Thanks for that insight Joe. By the way, how’s that three State solution working over in Iraq Mr. foreign policy expert? Anywho I got to go, my neighbors house is on fire and I think I better get some insurance on my home. I love this idea of not disqualifying individuals with pre-existing conditions. Adverse risk, yes, but who cares. Honestly, this idea is silly. Why would anyone buy insurance before they get sick? Just wait and pay for it until you’re well then drop it again. UNLESS smiling Joe and Uncle O are going to force everyone to buy it. Yeah, that’s it isn’t it? And the ‘poor’ are covered without paying right? Sounds like another entitlement to me. What percentage of the Federal budget are entitlements costing us now? And the forecasted cost for 2020? Medicare, Medicaid – broke. It goes on and on…

He forgot one thing about making all the illigal alians legal so that then we are not providing free health care to illegals.

We really need to look at what these Obamacrates are going to push down our throats. I am afraid the head pimp and his first lady are leading a bunch of ill-informed over-employed legislators down a primrose path wearing rose colored glasses into an abyss. READ Malkin’s book. See what the Obama’s did for the poor and disenfranchised in Chicago.

What does anyone expect from a gang (in the most literal sense of the word) of politicians who have never held a free market job in their life? In their world, boundless wealth & happiness can be created by simply passing more laws.

From now on, I am voting for the person who is most qualified to run a company or a country with a proven track record. We need someone who does what he says and stands by it. Ole’ George W at least did what he said and you knew where he stood. Even if you didnt like it.

I really dont care how many wifes the president has had or what church he goes to or if he can give a great speach.

We are paying the price of listening to lofty rhetorical lies and promises that were never intended to be honored. It is called trust and Obama is losing it fast!

Healthcare providers readily admit that they currently shift many extra costs to their insured patients just in order to help pay for the un-reimbursed costs of caring for their patients that have no coverage. And this practice is totally understandable and is totally justified under our current healthcare system. But the real question to be answered is this:
Once we do have universal health insurance coverage for all and cost-shifting is then no longer required, will healthcare providers reduce their charges since they no longer have to pass those costs on?
If they will agree to do so, only then can universal healthcare possibly work out financially for all of us.

It’s funny how analagous this is all looking to the Florida Home Ins market situation. Crist and Obama must have the same playbook. The politicians demonize the industry rather than addressing root causes. Then, once the private market is chased away, the burden falls to the unsuspecting taxpayer who shamefully bought the rhetoric.

Health premiums increasing? Absolutely. The reason? Health care costs are increasing. The unanswered question is are premiums increasing faster than cost? However, this important piece of information is, I suppose, another “inconvenient truth.”

One easy question: How has chasing away private capacity and shifting it toward Government programs ever lowered costs? Feel free to insert your own examples – here are a few that come to mind: US Post Office, medicare, and the National Flood Program.

We know how inefficient public program. I’ve seen no Dem plan to attack med mal premiums, tort reforms, etc. Can’t we address that first rather than overhauling a program that works for 5 out of 6 Americans?

Congress will never address MedMal or tort reform. The reason being is that congress is full of former lawyers. They look our for their own. How many former insurance professinals are in congress, the senate, or even in any promodent government agency? Not many.

VP Biden ground rules for Healthcare?’

Without any doubt, State Insurance regulators could teach VP Joe just exactly what the problem is with pricing and contract terms and conditions. Talk about Audacity of dope.

after someone on our group plan had a routine surgery and three day hospital stay. The boss told us Aetna canceled our plan. The carrier does not notify the actual participants of the plan of intent to increase premiums; they only notify the plan administrator.

Being told that Aetna canceled our plans led to everyone calling Aetna and finding out they did not cancel the plan after all. It would have saved a lot of headaches if Aetna had to send us each a renewal notice whereon they proposed to increase our rates 75%.

But, you only pay a portion of the cost, right? Your company more than likely foots the majority of that bill and they are under no obligation to inform you of that. That being said, a little honestly about the cost from your boss to you would have been better.

This was before Aetna was going to jack up our premiums 75% and we had to switch carriers.
