Gary Petrosino, executive vice president of Chubb & Son, has been appointed president of City of Hope’s National Insurance Industry Council (NIIC) group. Petrosino is an insurance executive with more than 30 years experience in the industry. He has been a member of NIIC for five years and has played a key role in building relationships with industry leaders to help increase significant support for lifesaving research, treatments and education at City of Hope.
“It’s a privilege to lead the insurance group and support City of Hope’s mission to quickly translate scientific discoveries into new therapies for patients with life-threatening diseases,” said Petrosino. “The insurance industry is dedicated and committed to help researchers find a cure for cancer and other serious illnesses, a tradition that I’m proud to continue.”
The NIIC was founded in 1978 by a group of key insurance industry executives and is composed of the most prominent property/casualty companies, law firms, brokers, accounting firms, reinsurers, executive placement firms and actuaries in the insurance industry. Motivated by its commitment to innovative medical research and quality patient care, and inspired by the guiding humanitarian principles of City of Hope, the NIIC has raised more than $19 million through its fundraising efforts.
City of Hope is a research and treatment center for cancer, diabetes and other life-threatening diseases.
