The strength of Hurricane Igor is likely to flucuate over the next few days as it crosses the Atlantic Ocean, according to the National Hurricane Center.
As of 11 a.m. Eastern time on Monday morning, Hurricane Igor was a category four storm and was located in the mid-Atlantic. It was traveling west at 10 miles per hour and had sustained winds of 150 miles per hour. It could intensify into a category five storm.
Some flucuations in intensity are expected over the next 48 hours, and the storm will likely remain a powerful hurricane for the next few days, the Hurricane Center said.
Currently there are no storm watches or warnings on the East Coast. The hurricane is expected to begin turning north tonight or tomorrow and current predictions say it will miss the coast.
