Cluster membership has seen huge growth due to the markets and profit sharing that these organizations provide. Membership is available in almost every state, my website lists over 70 of these groups, it can be viewed at:

Big is JUST big! Profitability can come in any size and is a lot more attractive to both owners and stockholders.

Thank you for this article IJ. WIAA Insurance Services is a great solution for agencies looking for access to markets through an aggregator relationship. Our contract doesn’t “lock you in” and you own the business you write through us. See wiaagroup.org for more info.

The best way to get answers is to ask the existing agency members of a given cluster organization. It’s best to talk to at least 3 random principal members. Most of these organizations have their agency members listed on their site. Some clusters do not list their membership on their site; to me this can be a red flag for various reasons. But if they don’t have their membership list on their site, you can always to go their state’s department of insurance organization license listing as most states list each agent or agency that is appointed under an organization license. Lastly, it’s best to do a Google search for a given cluster, you can also do a search under “Insurance Agency Clusters” and you will find a number of sites about insurance agency clusters. Getting information is key, joining a cluster is huge decision that should made with information independent of what is provided directly by the cluster.

If joining a cluster/group is not of interest and agency owners just want the risk off their back, we are buying insurance agencies in multiple states of all sizes.
